VAT in a phone shop, made simple

Most products and services in a phone shop carry the standard 21% VAT. What matters is not only charging it, but breaking it down correctly on every invoice and reporting it properly.

Taxable base and VAT-inclusive price

At the counter you work with final prices (VAT included). The taxable base is the price without VAT, and the amount is the difference. If an accessory costs €12.10, the base is €10.00 and the VAT €2.10.

Doing this by hand on every ticket invites errors; the software should extract the VAT automatically.

What tickets and invoices must show

  • Taxable base, VAT rate and amount.
  • Total with VAT included.
  • Issuer details and, on full invoices, the customer’s.
  • Sequential numbering and, with VERI*FACTU, the AEAT QR.

Let GoPOS do the maths

GoPOS computes the taxable base and VAT amount on every sale and prints them on the ticket and the invoice, while chaining everything with VERI*FACTU.
